EastEnders Ronnie and Roxy legends reunite and fans are freaking out
If you asked EastEnders viewers who’d be top of their ‘bring back from the dead’ list, we’re almost certain the Mitchell sisters, Ronnie (Samantha Womack) and Roxy (Rita Simons), would rank pretty highly.
It’s been universally accepted that the watery ending of the fierce and fabulous duo was one of the biggest soap crimes since…well, ever, and a recent reunion between real life besties, Samantha and Rita, sent soap fans into an absolute tizzy at the chance to see the blonde bombshells together again.
Quoting the soundtrack to their iconic debut promo trailer, The Girls by Calvin Harris, @BRATTYBARBI reposted Rita’s Instagram story, capturing their latest get together and postulated that Veronica and Roxanne could be heading back to Walford to reign supreme once again.
@Henry92589880 replied with: ‘Like I’ve said before They could enter the Queen Vic alive and well on Christmas and I wouldn’t even question it!’.
@clarep1987 added: ‘The reunion we need’, and, honestly Clare, we completely agree over here!
Ronnie and Roxy’s EastEnders deaths

At the time of their exit, fans were in uproar over the decision to kill Ronnie and Roxy off.
‘Ronnie’s whole story has to be the saddest story of any soap character. They’ve never given her a happy ending.’ Samantha Aindow tweeted, echoing many fans’ sentiments.
‘Genuinely refuse to believe the Mitchell sisters aka the most iconic duo ever have just been killed off, 2017 is cancelled’ Molly Matthews added.
Samantha herself tweeted at the time: ‘I’m sorry I can’t respond to any comments. I’m honestly broken. An appropriate end to the darkest year ever’, further wounding fans.
Talking to podcast host Amy Hart last year, Samantha was asked how it feels that fans would be willing to turn a blind eye to her death for a return: ‘Is it flattering that everyone is willing to let the plot go to the side? We’ve seen Ronnie in her coffin, but they’re willing to let that go?’
‘I am [flattered]’ Samantha responded. Though she currently resides in Spain, Samantha noted that she’s always ‘amazed’ when people refer to her by her alter-ego’s name when she returns home to the UK.
‘I’m always amazed – I still get stopped probably about eight, nine times a day when I’m here in the UK – not just with someone like grabbing me, you know, just like, ‘Ronnie!’ – there was a guy on the South Bank yesterday, he was on one of those Lime bikes, and he’s screeched to a stop.’
‘He had his earphones in, and he’s like, ‘oh, my God, Ronnie. I can’t believe it, you’re my favourite character ever. Oh man, they’ve got to bring you back, they’ve got to.’
‘And he’s got to have been like 19, 20. I was like, ‘Hey, when were you watching it? Because you must have been young!’

Rita previously revealed just how deep the fan dedication goes in regards to resurrecting the sisters while speaking to Radio Times.
‘To this day, I will get, whether it’s tweets or whether it’s someone in the street, ‘Why did they kill you? Why did they kill you? Come back, come back’
‘Yeah, I get it every day. I get scripts sent to me of ideas of how to come back from fans. Fans send me scripts that they’ve written. It has not stopped in six years.
‘If you see some of the scripts I’ve seen, I mean, who knows?’ she said, adding that she couldn’t say any more.
