Nicola pushed to the edge in EastEnders as the net closes in over guilty Eddie secret
Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) finds herself under huge pressure in upcoming EastEnders scenes as the truth about her secret deal with Eddie Knight (Christopher Fairbank) threatens to explode.
The drama kicks off after George Knight (Colin Salmon) finally confronts Nicola over the missing money and her ongoing manipulation, with tensions between the pair reaching breaking point. Already struggling to keep control of the situation, Nicola quickly realises the walls are beginning to close in around her.
George, furious over everything that has happened, attempts to channel his anger elsewhere and heads to the boxing gym for a sparring session with Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). However, what starts as a friendly workout soon takes a worrying turn.
According to spoilers, George appears to zone out during the session and aggressively pushes Mark to properly fight back. The situation quickly spirals, with Mark accidentally landing a punch that knocks George unconscious in the ring.
The shocking collapse leaves everyone rattled, especially when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) reveals that George should never have been boxing in the first place due to his brain injury and ongoing CTE diagnosis.
Despite concern from those around him, George refuses hospital treatment once he regains consciousness. Still groggy and clearly not himself, he insists on heading home instead, but things only get more complicated from there.
When George returns home, Nicola is horrified to learn the full truth about his condition after discovering he has CTE, something she previously knew nothing about. Faced with George’s deteriorating health and mounting guilt over her own actions, Nicola desperately attempts to justify her behaviour regarding the money and her connection to Eddie.
But with suspicions growing, Nicola’s secret becomes harder to contain.
Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) is left feeling anxious that George could reveal everything to Gina, including Nicola’s arrangement with Eddie and the role she played behind the scenes. Knowing the fallout could completely destroy his relationship with Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), Harry urges Nicola to come clean before the truth comes out elsewhere.
The pressure leaves Nicola backed into a corner as she struggles to regain control of the situation.
Viewers have already seen Nicola trying to keep several lies afloat at once, but upcoming scenes suggest the stress may finally become too much, especially as she tries to balance motherhood with a newborn. With George confused, angry and emotionally vulnerable following his collapse, there’s every chance he could expose the truth without even meaning to.
At the same time, Nicola appears genuinely shaken by George’s diagnosis, adding another layer of complexity to the storyline. While she has spent weeks manipulating situations to protect herself, spoilers hint that George’s condition may force her to confront the real consequences of her actions.
Meanwhile, George continues to push Nicola away as she desperately attempts to get through to him. However, with trust between them badly damaged, it may already be too late to repair things.
