Coronation Street star Sacha Parkinson welcomes first baby and reveals adorable name

Coronation Street star Sacha Parkinson, 32, has announced the birth of her first child with an adorable social media post.

The actress, best know to soap fans for playing Sian Powers, revealed her pregnancy on Christmas Eve, much to the delight of her friends and followers.

Now, she has taken to Instagram to share some sweet snaps of her new baby girl, who she shares with fiancé John, as well as revealing her name.

‘1 whole week of Sadie,’ she wrote beside a close up snap of the new born.

Her Corrie co-stars were quick to take to the comments with an outpouring of love, with Sally Metcalfe actress Sally Dynevor writing: ‘Oooooh wow congratulations. How wonderful. She’s so beautiful.’

‘Aww congratulations to you both!’ Georgia May Foote, who played Katy Armstrong, added, while Faye Windass star Ellie Leach called the pictures ‘soooooo beautiful’.

Stars of Emmerdale and Hollyoaks also shared the love, with Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle in the Yorkshire-based soap writing: ‘Beautiful mate.’

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks’ Nancy Osborne actress Jessica Fox said: ‘Massive congratulations! Beautiful girl, beautiful name.’

Sacha announced her engagement to fiancé John in October 2023, posting a selfie of them both while showing off her stunning ring.

The actress was involved in some huge storylines in her role as Sian Powers, including one which saw her fall in love with best friend SophieWebster.

The two girls shared Corrie’s first on-screen lesbian kiss, and eventually agreed to tie the knot.

Unfortunately, things fell apart when Sophie got cold feet at the altar.

After a long chat, Sian agreed to give Sophie another chance, until she heard Sophie talking to Amber Kalirai about a kiss they had shared several months before.

Heartbroken Sian then called it quits with Sophie before leaving Weatherfield altogether.

Last year, Sacha thrilled fans when she reunited with co-star Brooke Vincent, with both actresses sharing pictures of their time together.
