Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor has shared a pretty iconic throwback snap to her social media, and she absolutely hasn’t changed a bit in 46 years.

Sally, who is 63, has played the role of Sally Metcalfe in the ITV soap since 1986. The character used to be married to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and shares two children with him: Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent).

Her Corrie character is now in a happy marriage with local cab driver Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine).

They recently embarked on a journey that saw them become foster parents, and now look after Michaelis children Brody, Joanie and Shanice.

A few weeks ago, Tim bravely confronted a woman from his past called Trisha. It was previously revealed that the two characters were in a relationship when they were younger, but Tim had spent his entire life unaware that Trisha sexually abused him due to her being 20 and him being 14.

Tim spent a while in denial about Sally’s claim that Trisha took advantage of him, but eventually came to realise that what happened was abuse, after recognising the parallels between his own situation and Will Driscoll’s.

After confronting Trisha, Tim returned home and told Sally that the woman didn’t take accountability for what happened. He explained to his wife that he didn’t need Trisha to say sorry to him, as he knows in his heart that what happened was wrong, and that’s what is most important.

Sally has been a familiar face on our TVs for decades, so it’s always fun when she shares glimpses into the past.

Over the weekend, the actress took to Instagram to share a picture of her from when she was 17 years old.

The image sees Sally looking at the camera, posing with the smile that has brightened up our screens for so many years.

‘This popped up 17, applying for drama school. Many many years ago’, she wrote alongside some laughing emojis.

Producer of the show Kate Brooks recently shared that Sally and Joe’s soap alter-egos will continue to be involved in major Corrie drama this year.

‘There’s a massive story for Sally and Tim that comes to the to the fore, and it’s a story that tests them as people, tests them as a couple, but tests them as foster parents as well’, she explained.

‘It’s a bit of a curveball, and it comes from slightly left field, but absolutely upends their lives. It’s how they navigate that situation going forward. Sally and Tim are so beloved, and I just adore them. And it’s seeing them in a slightly different position than what we’ve seen them in before.

Kate also revealed: ‘That story will also dovetail further down the line with a Christina story. Christina and George are a really great, strong couple in the show. It’s those friendships alive. There’s a connection there as well.’

Fans are now speculating that the plot may involve Tim discovering that he’s the father of a child his abuser Trisha gave birth to.
