Sharon in EastEnders could be about to make a comeback after vanishing from screens late last year.

The character, played by actress Letitia Dean, sparked concern when she returned in September after some time away, before quickly leaving again. After an abrupt exit in October, Sharon has not been in Walford since.

There’s been little mention of her and no real update on when or if she would be back. After her exit, her sister Vicki Fowler claimed Sharon needed some time away after Zoe Slater’s betrayal.

Zoe had lied to Sharon that her twins were the children of Sharon’s late partner Dennis Rickman, all in a bid to get money from her. The truth is said to have left Sharon distraught, leading to her fleeing Walford and spending time with best friend Michelle Fowler in Florida.

The latest episode of the BBC soap may finally have offered answers on if Sharon will be back. While no new information was shared about when we might see her again, something Phil Mitchell said to his nephew Mark Fowler Jr, Michelle’s son, massively hinted Sharon was not gone for good.

Fans noticed the comment in Thursday’s episode, now available on BBC iPlayer, and quickly assumed Sharon was heading back to Walford soon. Speaking about The Boxing Den, owned by Sharon and her ex Phil, Phil suggested Mark could take care of the place in Sharon’s absence.

He specifically said “until she gets back” alluding to the fact she will definitely be back, while a date was not given. He said to Mark: “You can start taking this place seriously and all. You can manage it until Sharon gets back.”

Mark was up for this, grateful after Phil helped him out with the informant drama. So Mark will be taking over the gym until Sharon returns, but does Phil’s comment confirm that Sharon will be back at some point amid fears she had gone for good?

Fans certainly thought so with one reaction reading: “OMG SHARON IS RETURNING!!” It comes after fans begged for the character to make a return, months on from her last scenes.

A fan said: “I miss Sharon so much! I hope she returns at some point in 2026.” Another added: “We need Stacey, Suki & Sharon back so much.”
