Split fears for legendary Emmerdale couple amid humiliating twist

Emmerdale’s Sam Dingle (James Hooton) thought he had his secret surprise for Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) nailed.
The bumbling local decided to secretly learn how to dance to impress his wife, who has been attending ballroom classes in Hotten.
Sam and teacher Ross Barton (Michael Parr) have been rehearsing in barns on Emmerdale Farm and also Dale View. Due to neither of them wanting their secret snake hips to be town gossip, they’ve been communicating in ways that have left others suspicious.
One person who has been worrying about Sam is Kim Tate (Claire King). After getting word from Lydia that Sam appears to be avoiding her, she began to wonder if he was having an affair.
She eventually told Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) that she thinks Sam is sleeping with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy). Unbeknownst to Kim at the time, Laurel was helping Sam with some rehearsals, but that only happened because Sam walked in on Ross and Laurel’s evening together and he had to quickly make up an excuse as to why she was there.
Keeping up?
In this evening’s episode, Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) 21st birthday party continued, and Sam was making quite the show of himself as he was far too drunk.
He ended up hugging Laurel, and then the duo joined in with the likes of Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) and Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah), who were dancing to the music.
This was all witnessed by a devastated Lydia, and a very disgusted Kim, who was definitely planning how to get revenge on Sam for hurting her best friend.

Lydia accused Sam of having an affair right when the pub fell silent. Laurel told Sam that he had no choice but to reveal the truth to Lydia which, as far as she was concerned, was confirmation that her theory was correct.
Sam confessed that Ross has been teaching him how to dance. The pub remained silent bar a few sniggers from Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). It was very awkward, and Sam was humiliated.
He left the pub and Lydia was left wondering what on earth she could do to fix the situation. The embarrassment experienced in the Woolpack has no doubt left Sam wondering if stepping out of his comfort zone for Lydia was even worth it.
If they can’t fix the situation, is Lydia and Sam’s future together at risk?
