Did you clock this hilariously impossible Emmerdale moment?

Emmerdale fans have spotted that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) seems to have supersonic hearing during a somewhat unrealistic scene on Tuesday.

In the ITV soap, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) were seen having a conversation about Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Rebecca White’s (Emily Head) son Seb.

As fans know, it was recently revealed that Rebecca had died off-screen, and with Robert still in prison, he had signed over his young son’s care to an aunt in Bristol.

During their chat, Robert’s ex-husband Aaron told Victoria he wished they could have taken Seb in.

Victoria was less convinced, however, believing the child was in the best place, but assured Aaron that she knew how much he loved the youngster.

Unbeknownst to them, Aaron’s current boyfriend John had entered the restaurant and was seen listening in on their exchange.

However, some fans joked that John appears to have better hearing than most, as he managed to listen in while standing at an impossibly far distance from Aaron and Victoria.

‘John must have magnificent hearing if he can hear that conversation,’ one fan posted on X.

'Emmerdale' TV Series UK - 2018 Emmerdale Farm is a long-running British soap opera set in Emmerdale, a fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. Created by Kevin Laffan, it first broadcast on 16 October 1972 and produced by ITV Yorkshire.

Another wrote: ‘I was amused in the Hop when Vic and Aaron were talking and John could hear every word while hiding at the back. Funny how normally people can talk about someone who’s about three feet away but they can’t hear them.’

‘There is no way in hell that John heard Victoria and Aaron!’ a third said.

In a recent episode, Rebecca’s ex-boyfriend Ross Barton (Michael Parr) informed Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) that she had died during a routine surgical procedure, as a result of heart issues.

Rebecca left the Emmerdale village alongside Ross and son Seb to start a new life in Liverpool in 2018, after two dramatic years on the show.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
