Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (January 14) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) and Martha Blake (Sherrie Hewson) enjoyed a picnic in the flat, unaware that the basket from which they were dining was storing the body of Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith).
Dilly was killed off earlier this week as part of a controversial twist which saw Jez (Jeremy Sheffield) claim the life of his niece in a bid to stop her from going to the police over Ethan Williams’ (Matthew James Bailey) murder.
Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), as fans know, murdered Ethan on their wedding day and later confessed such a thing to Dilly, leaving her cousin devastated.
When Jez got wind of the fact that Dilly knew, he decided to take matters into his own hands and, in a bid to protect his daughter, he murdered terrified Dilly in cold blood.
With Dilly having been a fan-favourite, the development didn’t go down too well with viewers of the show, who hoped that somehow Dilly survived the showdown with Jez.
Tuesday’s episode, however, poured cold water on such a theory, with Jez having put Dilly’s body in a picnic hamper, which he intended to get rid of later that day.
Martha and Liberty, however, took advantage of the hamper being in the centre of the flat and thus used it as a table as they enjoyed afternoon tea on it. Jez was on edge as he tried to get the pair out of the flat.
When Sienna arrived home looking for Dilly, the killer was left with little choice but to reveal that he’d murdered her. Sienna was heartbroken to lose Dilly, who she previously thought was her sister only to discover that she was her cousin.
Jez urged her to help dispose of the body and, fighting tears, Sienna agreed to do just that, helping her murderous new dad to cart Dilly’s remains to the car for transport.
