Myra McQueen dashes back to Hollyoaks village next week – determined to help seriously-ill Mercedes get out of jail.
Having heard that Mercy has admitted to murdering abusive Abe, mum Myra smells a rat and reckons that her daughter is lying. But why would she confess to a crime she didn’t commit, especially when she’s having chemo for cancer?

Nicole Barber-Lane, who plays Myra, spoke to us at Inside Soap and spilled the beans on the McQueen Mercy mission…
Hi Nicole! What brings Myra back to Hollyoaks?
She finds out Mercedes is in prison for killing Abe, and Myra doesn’t believe she did it. For a start, Mercedes is too ill! Myra suspects that she must be covering for someone else.

Is Myra worried about Mercy’s fragile health?
Myra has had enough children die on her – Tina, Carmel and Niall. She just can’t take any more. She wants Mercedes out of prison so she can access the right sort of care, so tries to get her to admit she’s lying.
How does she plan to persuade Mercedes?
Misbah tells Myra when Mercy will be at the hospital for her chemo. Because Maxine is a paralegal, Myra drags her along as a witness, thinking that Mercedes will confess the truth. Myra ambushes Mercedes at the hospital as she’s wheeled in and demands to know what’s going on!

Who does Myra think killed Abe?
I don’t think she has any particular theories about the killer. If Myra doesn’t see it, then she doesn’t notice it. The only thing in the back of her mind is that Mercedes could be protecting Cleo for some reason. But Cleo’s head seems to be in the clouds at the moment. She’s not with it and Myra doesn’t think she could kill anyone, even if she wanted to.
