Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on E4 and Channel 4 streaming.
Hollyoaks aired some distressing scenes for Ste Hay after he called the police on Jez Blake.
Ste has been distrusting of Jez lately after finding Abe’s watch on his allotment and believing he killed and replaced his cat. After searching his allotment again in the previous episode, Ste found a bag of drugs (left there by Frankie Osborne and Dillon Ray) and called the police.
Tonight’s episode began with the police searching the allotment, where Jez has Dilly Harcourt buried after he killed her.

Fortunately for him, they didn’t find anything. DI Donny Clark stated that since the drugs weren’t in a secure location, they wouldn’t ask any further questions.
Martha then called Jez up and he told her he was “fuming” with the situation and needed to and get Ste to stop his “ridiculous vendetta”. Martha made him promise not to hurt Ste and he agreed.
However, after hanging up, he muttered to himself that he would make things “quick and painless”.
Shortly afterwards, Ste arrived home to find Jez on the sofa. “I think it’s time to put an end to this madness,” he said in a sinister tone. “Don’t you?”

Jez told Ste the cat had indeed died and been replaced, but claimed Martha had run it over with her car and he lied to protect her from getting in trouble because of her dementia.
As Ste was telling Jez that he’d need to see some more evidence, he turned around and started talking to someone who wasn’t there — someone who also didn’t believe Jez’s story.
Ste got more and more irate and picked up a chair to attack Jez with, but stopped himself.
Rex Gallagher overheard Martha on the phone to Jeremy talking about Ste and the two rushed over to see him on the floor, sweating after a psychotic episode.

Ste told Rex the voice told him to throw his medication away. Rex quickly found his prescription though and got Ste to take the medication with some water, promising his former romantic interest that he’d look after him and quietly mentioning the he loved him.
Martha quietly told Jez that this turn of events was fortunate, as now no-one would ever believe any accusations Ste makes against them. But Jez showed genuine remorse for Ste’s condition (he also wasted no time in calling Ste when he found an overdosed Lucas recently).
Will Jez abandon any murderous plans for Ste, and possibly even come to support him?

Elsewhere in tonight’s episode, there were heartbreaking scenes for Diane Hutchinson as she saw Ro, who was convinced he’d be sent to a girls’ young offenders unit, had decided to dress more feminine again.
With all the stress building up, Diane relapsed and took a bottle of wine to the bath with her. She then slipped over and fell unconscious. Tony managed to find her before the whole room flooded or she drowned, but is she okay?
