Hollyoaks fan theory reveals secret Brookside character who’s already in the village
Could someone be hiding in plain sight?
Hollyoaks fans have speculated that a secret Brookside character could already be in the village.
The series is set to crossover with the classic Channel 4 soap as part of Hollyoaks‘ 30th anniversary celebrations, with speculation high over who will appear.
While former Brookie star Louis Emerick is currently appearing in Hollyoaks as Donny Clark, some have now theorised that he could be revealed in the October episode as his former character Mick Johnson under a new identity.
“My theory is that Donny is actually Mick from Brookie and Froggy knows his true identity leading to this whole #Hollyoaks and #Brookside crossover!” one fan wrote on X, tying into Louis’s recent tease that Froggy could hold the key to the crossover.

“The way Froggy said ‘Donny’ makes me think Froggy used to know him by a different name,” another added, while a third said: “Louis did say that Froggy plays a BIG part in the Hollyoaks/Brookside crossover, and Donny does have history with Froggy, so anything is possible I guess…”
Another noted recent filming photos, writing: “Previously unannounced Michael Starke spotted, alongside Louis Emerick which basically confirms he’s really Mick and Roxy Mitchell was there?!”
Speaking previously about the special episode, executive producer Hannah Cheers said: “This special feels like both a moving and fitting tribute to our origin story and a chance for fans to revisit much-loved Brookside characters in honour of that legacy.
“These iconic Brookside characters are soap archetypes that helped define British TV; soap archetypes that new generations are still discovering now through Hollyoaks.”
