Hollyoaks’ Anna Passey teases Sienna Blake’s future in village after engagement twist
Hollyoaks' Sienna Blake and Ethan Williams were confirmed to be engaged during the first time hop episode on the Channel 4 soap on Monday night but all is not as it seems
Hollyoaks siren Anna Passey has dropped a bombshell about Sienna Blake’s future with Ethan Williams, hinting that their engagement might not lead to the fairytale ending fans are hoping for.
In a shock twist during Monday’s (September 16) first-ever time hop episode, it was revealed that one of Hollyoaks’ most adored couples had reunited after the soap fast-forwarded a year into the future.
As the episode unveiled what the characters had been up to over the last twelve months, Sienna was seen flaunting an enormous engagement ring, and it was later confirmed she had rekindled her romance with Ethan, portrayed by Matthew James Bailey.
Ethan and Sienna’s love story began nearly two years ago, quickly becoming one of the most buzzed-about romances on the Channel 4 drama. Despite their split last year causing a stir among viewers, the pair have now found their way back to each other but will it last?

Anna Passey, who brings Sienna to life, opened up about her character’s rollercoaster relationship with Ethan: “Sienna and Ethan have done such a good job at ruining it for themselves for the last year and a half that I don’t think you could have left it without them saying the things they needed to say.”, reports the Mirror.
She also reflected on the show’s leap forward in time, saying: “When we heard the news there was going to be the year time jump everyone thought for their characters ‘what is going to look like? ‘ and for me I thought ‘I’m either going to be in a pit of misery or she might just be happy’.”

Anna Passey, the star behind Sienna in the hit series, has dished out some juicy details about her character’s love life. She spilled the beans: “I don’t think anything lasts long for Sienna. I think what’s really interesting is that people are so focused on the destination of the time jump they forget the journey and these characters have lived a year we just haven’t seen it.”
She added more spice to the gossip, saying: “I think what’s nice about the Sienna storyline is we’ll get to learn snippets of what’s gone on and that adds a new interesting element to it because you’ll see that it’s not as quite it seems on the surface which I think is most people’s relationships.”
Passey didn’t hold back on her thoughts about Sienna’s unexpected romance with Ethan, revealing: “I didn’t see the Ethan romance coming but it works so well. I think as a pairing it just works so well. Some things are audience led and when they are you know there’s something there because so many people have picked up on it so it’s a really nice thing and it’s nice to give viewers a dose of something they want.”
In the episode aired on Tuesday (September 17), viewers caught a glimpse of Sienna warning Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) to steer clear of Ethan, suggesting their romance might be hitting rocky waters.
Teasing fans further, Anna hinted: “I wouldn’t say the happiness is short-lived but it’s very complicated and I think people will be quite divided. They will look at what’s gone on and think ‘I wouldn’t be OK with that’ but people will have their own opinion on what happened in the year.”
