Hollyoaks airs terrifying Tony and Mercedes ending in court twist

Hollyoaks has aired Tony Hutchinson’s plea hearing tonight, and when a dramatic twist turns the tide against Jez Blake for good, things get violent. Will we see another fan-favourite character die before the serial killer finally gets justice?

Tonight’s episode began with Jez and Liberty Savage deciding to go with Diane to Tony’s hearing after Nancy Osborne cancelled on her.

In the court building, the trio heard that the McQueens wouldn’t be attending after John Paul was found attacked in the village. Jez seemed unbothered by it, which shook Liberty to the core.

Liberty excused herself from the hearing before Tony pleaded guilty for Bobby Costello’s murder, and went to call Dodger. He already suspected Jez after recent revelations, and was frantically searching the household for any sort of clue.

He eventually found a key that opened a jewellery box, in which he found Jez’s kill book. He brought that straight to court and barged in to get Tony released and Jez arrested.

“Tony didn’t kill Bobby Costello in a hit-and-run,” he told the court. “Bobby was already dead, because Jeremy Blake murdered him.”

Jez denied everything, making out that Sienna had gotten in Dodger’s head and trying to get Liberty to leap to defence.

“You know me, you know I love you, you know I wouldn’t do anything to risk what we have,” he meekly told her, but as Dodger got closer he pulled out a knife before grabbing Tony and making his escape.

After locking everyone inside, Jez dragged Tony to his car and started to bundle him when Merecedes turned up on the scene.

She didn’t believe Tony as he told her the truth about Jez, who decided to take advantage of her anger to make a chilling suggestion.

Handing her a metal pipe, he said: “If you truly want justice, use this. I won’t say anything. Don’t let your son down again. You need to avenge him. Mercedes, kill Tony.”
