Hollyoaks star drops Christmas bombshell and it’s not looking good for one family
EXCLUSIVE: Jessica Fox has teased a huge Hollyoaks Christmas storyline hinting that the festive period "isn't going to be merry but interesting" for the Osborne family
It’s not looking set to be a very merry Christmas in Hollyoaks village.
It’s meant to be the most wonderful time of the year but actress Jessica Fox has hinted that the Osbornes are set to face more drama as we approach the end of the year.
It’s been a turbulent 12 months for the family from Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) opening up about being sexually abused by her twin brother JJ Osborne (Ryan Mulvey) to Jessica’s character Nancy admitting to Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) that their daughter isn’t his biological child.
Nancy is currently recovering after getting caught in the plane wreckage during the Channel 4 soap’s epic 30th anniversary last month and things are set to take an “interesting” turn over the festive period.
Teasing what fans can expect, Jessica confirmed: “It’s not going to be a merry Christmas but it’s going to be an interesting Christmas.”
The soap icon has played Nancy for over 20 years and has been at the centre of some gripping storylines including coping with the death of her sister Becca Hayton (Ali Bastian), drug abuse and being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
However, the actress said she “couldn’t believe it” when bosses dropped the bombshell that Nancy’s daughter Morgan is in fact Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) child not his best friend and her husband Darren’s.

She said: “I couldn’t believe it and I knew if I couldn’t believe it then the audience would have a real shock and I really don’t think anyone saw that coming.
“It was left field but in some ways it’s nice to see Nancy not so perfect because when she was younger she had a lot of issues but for a long time now she’s been morally straight so it’s nice to see that wavering a bit.
“There always more layers to the character and that’s why she’s so fun to play but I did find it very hard to sit there and eat humble pie.
“When Darren’s having a go at Nancy and she’s like ‘I’m sorry’ I find that very hard because I just want to go ‘what about Mandy?’ but she’s had to suck eggs a bit.”
Fans will remember Darren previously had an affair with Nancy’s best friend Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) and the couple managed to fall back into each others arms, but will he be able to forgive his wife for cheating?
