Hollyoaks confirms new challenge for Cleo and Sienna in dramatic village return

Hollyoaks has confirmed a new challenge for Cleo McQueen and Sienna Blake as Cleo makes a dramatic return to the village. In the last few weeks, Cleo was readmitted to the psychiatric ward to treat her postpartum psychosis after baby Joseph suffered a seizure, and it was thought that she had hurt her baby.

Sienna’s daughter Sophie later confessed that she had shaken Joseph that night and that Cleo was not responsible for his seizure.

Cleo was furious when she found out Sienna had kept this from her, but after Joseph had another seizure, they discovered he was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder and hadn’t suffered head trauma from being shaken after all.

Explaining his condition, Misbah told a devastated Cleo that doctors suspected Joseph had a rare genetic disorder, glutaric aciduria type 1 (GA1).

“We don’t believe Joseph sustained head trauma from being shaken. Not now, not before,” Misbah said, before telling the family about GA1.

In scenes set to air next week, Sienna is happy her family will be back together with Cleo and Joseph being discharged from the hospital, but Cleo remains worried that Sophie might be a danger to her baby.

With Cleo sleeping, Sophie gives baby Joseph a teddy, and Cleo wakes up in a panic, shouting at Sophie, believing she was trying to hurt her baby.

Later, Cleo was horrified to learn that Sophie wet the bed after she scared her so much. Cleo finds Sienna at the market and apologises, promising to give Sophie another chance.

“Cleo and Joseph are both coming home next week,” our Hollyoaks insider explained. “But tensions are still high. Despite the revelation that Joseph’s disorder caused his seizures, Cleo is still worried about Sophie being around her baby – and a frightening incident could spell bad news for her relationship with Sienna…”
