The end for Charlie ‘confirmed’ in Hollyoaks as he finally comes clean
Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) is consumed with guilt in Hollyoaks next week over his role in the car crash last month and thus resolves to do the right thing.
The teen, as viewers know, was driving Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) to the train station as she prepared to leave the eponymous village for a new start at dance school in London.
With Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) in the back seat, the trio had just enjoyed a night out celebrating Frankie ahead of her departure but things took a turn when Frankie realised she’d forgot her dance shoes.
Charlie turned the car around and attempted to overtake newcomers Beth and Jonah Keane (Rebecca Ryan and Matthew Wolfenden), who were in a removal van ahead of their big move to Hollyoaks, but tragedy struck when the vehicles collided.
Charlie clipped the van, sending Caleb Keane (Lewis Walton) through the windshield, which has left him with spinal injuries. Vicky and Frankie, meanwhile, were rushed to hospital.
Frankie was told that her injury will delay her dreams of moving to London while Vicky was in a coma for a week or so after crash, before waking up to learn of Frankie’s plan to cover up their role in the incident.
Refusing to lose her brother and feeling guilty for pressuring him into speeding up ahead of the collision, Frankie resolved to lie to the authorities, claiming that the Keanes were at fault – not Charlie.
Vicky wasn’t impressed with such a thing but lied to protect her mates, though it’s clear that she’s struggling to get past what Charlie did.
The guilt becomes too much for Charli, especially since Jack (Jimmy McKenna) has found himself conflicted given that Beth is his daughter.
Next week, Charlies tells Frankie that he cannot lie anymore – he’s going to the police.
Later, he sits alone in a police interview room as the consequences of his actions begin to catch up with him. As the questioning continues, Charlie is pushed for answers on what caused him to be distracted.
The question is: will this spell a prison stint for Charlie? Will this lead to an exit? And how will the Keane clan react to finding out that Charlie has come forward and revealed the truth at last?
