Hollyoaks maneater unrecognisable 22 years after onscreen fling with serial killer
"She's still really pretty"
FORMER Hollyoaks star Sarah Baxendale looks worlds away from her onscreen alter-ego Ellie Hunter.
The fictional maneater, now 45, looks very different over two decades on from starring in the soap.
The former vixen still sports long blonde hair and can be seen in pictures holding a cocktail, dressed in a demure outfit and beaming happily.
A fan commented on the Instagram post: “Is this the beautiful lady from Hollyoaks in the 1990s? She’s still really pretty.”
Sarah played the feisty character on the Channel 4 soap from 2002-2005.
The TV star sizzled on screen as the eldest child of Les and Sally Hunter, and sister of Dan, Lee and Lisa, played by Gemma Atkinson.
The conniving minx had been working with newcomer Gary Nesbitt to scam money from her parents.
Ellie played many men against each other from O.B to Jamie Nash and was regularly at war with Chloe Bruce and Izzy Cornwell, played by Elize du Toit.
Actress and voiceover artist Ellie has also appeared in programmes including Benidorm, Doctors and Holby City.
The troublemaker’s life went from bad to worse when she got involved with local serial killer Toby Mills.
Their dark relationship resulted in harrowing scenes followed by a six-week stint in a coma following a dramatic fall.
Ellie made her exit from Hollyoaks mid Noughties and moved to France to start a fresh life, estranged from her family, and hasn’t been seen since.
The actress was previously a regular on the red carpet and would often join co-stars Ali Bastian and Sarah Dunn at glamorous awards ceremonies.
Former soap star Ali, 42, has recently been diagnosed with stage two breast cancer and has admitted she is left in “total shock”.
Ali played the character of Becca Dean on the soap from 2001 to 2007.
The actress, who has also appeared on the BBC One series Doctors and took part in the seventh series of Strictly Come Dancing, found a lump when she was breastfeeding her daughter Isabella.
The star is undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and is set to undergo a mastectomy and radiotherapy treatment early next year.
She told OK! magazine: “It was a total shock. I have mornings when I wake up and I’ve forgotten… and then suddenly I remember. I’m still trying to process it.”
Ali praised her former Hollyoaks co-stars including Sarah Jayne Dunn, Carley Stenson and Jodi Albert for rallying around and offering support.
She remains positive about the future and said she was looking forward to a return to acting once she is “out of the other side”.
