Hollyoaks confirms two major returns as Christmas exit is ‘sealed’
Hollyoaks is set to welcome back two much-loved faces for Christmas, amid a cast departure.
Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber Lane) and Nana McQueen (Diane Langton) will be heading back to the village next month as part of Theresa McQueen’s (Jorgie Porter) exit story.
The character is set to temporarily leave the Channel 4 soap while actress Jorgie Porter goes on maternity leave.
Myra and Nana will return to celebrate Christmas with their family, including John Paul (James Sutton), Prince (Malique Thompson Dwyer) and Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), who is currently battling bowel cancer.
They will then leave again with Theresa in tow, The Sun reports.
Talking about her upcoming soap return, Nicole says: ‘It’s so much fun working and laughing with the McQueens again! Although lots of crying too with some amazing acting by all involved.
‘It’s great because we know the McQueens can go from slapstick silliness to serious heart-wrenching drama. I loved getting my teeth into these scenes and of course working with great directors and amazing crew too. I feel so lucky to be part of the Hollyoaks family.’
Nicole left Hollyoaks after a 13-year stint in 2019, but has continued to make guest appearances.
Diane, who plays Nana, has appeared on and off between 2007 and January 2024, when she was last seen on the show.
Meanwhile, Jorgie is preparing to welcome her second child with fiancé Ollie Piotrowski.
The couple are already parents to son Forrest, who was born in November 2022.
