Former Hollyoaks stars Angus Castle-Doughty and Niamh Blackshaw have marked a huge milestone in their relationship after celebrating their second anniversary.

The couple met on the set of the Channel 4 soap, where Niamh played Juliet Nightingale and Angus appeared as villan Eric Foster.

On Tuesday, Angus shared a sweet tribute to Niamh to mark their anniversary on his Instagram Story.

Sharing the first picture they took together – a black and white image in front of a Christmas tree – he wrote: ‘Been together two years today and the first picture we took together is still the best one.

‘Let’s do better for the next two,’ he suggested.

Nimah also posted a snap of them on holiday together, simply with the caption: ‘2.’

The pair both left Hollyoaks last year, with Niamh’s character making an emotional exit when she died following a terminal cancer diagnosis.

She previously spoke of how she had ‘complicated’ feelings about her Hollyoaks exit, telling Metro last year: ‘I was very open to options as to how I would leave the show, and this exit felt like a very powerful, finite story that I was excited to do.

‘But obviously I love the character deeply and I’m upset for her – we have all once in our lives grieved a fictional character!’

She continued: ‘I’m happy to have seen her through to the end. I believe in chapters, I think they’re so important.

‘Of course, there’s a lot that I will miss and I’m very grateful for everything I have experienced.’

After leaving Hollyoaks, Niamh appeared in hit BBC drama The Jetty as Rosie.

Earlier this year, it was revealed she had joined the cast of Waterloo Road
