The moment Samson is finally caught out in new Emmerdale spoiler video
( Emmerdale: Cain rages over rumours of Samson’s leaving)
With Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) being rushed to hospital after being beaten up in prison on Emmerdale, the pressure is even higher among his loved ones in the village to try to get to the truth about what happened when he allegedly stabbed Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).
So far Moira (Natalie J. Robb), Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Kerry (Laura Norton) have been fighting Matty’s corner, knowing that he would never act violently towards another person. Meanwhile Lydia (Karen Blick) and Sam (James Hooton) have sided with Samson, believing him when he insists he’s an innocent victim.
A new spoiler video sees the moment when Cain bursts into the Dingles’ – and he’s not a happy man. It seems that Samson has reported Moira to the police for kidnapping him, as she desperately tried to get Samson to admit that he was lying about Matty launching an unprovoked attack on him.
Viewers know that Samson is terrified of the consequences of admitting that Matty is innocent – he was merely holding a knife when Samson’s friend Josh (Osian Morgan) pushed Samson towards him, wanting him to get the money from the till in the Hide.
Samson is trying to save his own skin, scared of the idea that he might go to prison and scared of standing up to Josh. Every effort by Cain, Moira and Matty so far has only made Samson double down on his story.
When Matty talked to Samson himself, it looked as though he might be about to confess but instead he went to the police and reported Matty for harassing him. Because of this, Matty was deemed to have broken his bail conditions, and that’s why he’s in prison now and in a situation where being trans has made him fear for his life.
In the clip Sam is still supporting his son, as he has throughout this storyline, as Cain vents his fury. He reminds Samson that Matty is in hospital because of him yet his family are still protecting him. ‘Matty attacked my son,’ Sam insists.
Cain once again implores Samson to tell his dad the truth, but Samson keeps silent. Cain reminds Sam that he’s broken the Dingle Code by calling the police on Moira. ‘We never rat on our own,’ he says. ‘You know that.’
Sam angrily orders him out of the house and for a second the two brothers are in a stand-off as it looks like Cain might refuse. But he turns and leaves, and Samson looks relieved that he’s apparently got away with it again.
But has he? Lydia looks troubled – and it seems that the wall of support around Samson might be breaking at last. Could the truth be about to come out?
