However, in 2012, Helen made the decision to leave Weatherfield behind, citing dissatisfaction with the role.

At the time she told the Sunday Mirror she “disliked” playing Rosie, who was known for her “bitchiness”.

In 2016 Helen briefly reprised her role, but after her second pregnancy, she decided to take another step back.

Now she has hinted that a dramatic comeback could be on the cards.

She told the Mirror: “I would love to go back to Coronation Street.”

Helen has settled down in Bolton, which she says would allow her to balance work with parenting.

The star is a single mum to three young children, who she co-parents with ex fiancé Scott Sinclair.

Despite contemplating a move to London to be closer to Scott, Helen has decided to put down roots in her hometown of Bolton.

Helen hinted at an explosive new character arc for Rosie, saying that if her character returns she would be “a single mum with a real storyline, with two kids that she dumps with Sally to have her Rovers Return play out an iconic barmaid role”.

Helen has enjoyed reality TV success on shows like I’m A Celebrity and Celebs Go Dating, but admits that nothing compares to a classic Corrie storyline.

One of her most memorable plots involved a forbidden romance with her teacher, John Stape.

The affair, which played out in 2011, sent shockwaves through Weatherfield.

Scandal erupted on Christmas Day when John accidentally mixed up his Christmas presents, leading to a violent confrontation with Rosie’s father, Kevin Webster.

In a dramatic twist John kidnapped Rosie, holding her captive for five weeks before she was finally discovered by Fiz Brown.
