Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) was left emotional in tonight’s Coronation Street after receiving advice from best mate Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

Kev has been left reeling in recent weeks after being diagnosed with testicular cancer, and the treatment is certainly taking its toll on him.

Recent scenes have seen the mechanic lash out at his family and friends in an attempt to push them away – and it very nearly worked as planned.

The day got off to a bad start for Kevin when he caught grounded son Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) trying to sneak out, and the pair almost ended up having a fight.

Luckily, Debbie was there to intervene, but it wasn’t long before she was also on the receiving end of Kevin’s anger.

Wanting to drown his sorrows, Kevin headed to the Rovers, where he snapped at barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) when she pointed out that he shouldn’t be drinking alcohol while having chemotherapy.

By the time Tyrone arrived, Kevin was already three pints deep, which did nothing to help his reckless behaviour.

As he continued to argue with Tyrone, his colleague finally snapped, insisting that his behaviour was pathetic.

Things escalated dramatically when Kevin then punched Tyrone in the face, leaving the rest of the punters horrified.

Abi Webster (Sally Carman) was beyond furious to hear what Kevin had done, and also tried to talk some sense into him.

She pointed out that she was ill too – having been diagnosed with PTSD earlier this year – and that it didn’t give Kevin the right to act the way he has been towards people.

Though she was trying to prove that she understood how he was feeling, Kevin cruelly told her that her addiction was self-inflicted, prompting her to storm out.

Later, Tyrone paid Kevin a visit and attempted once again to get through to him.

As Kevin insisted he wouldn’t still be here in six months time, Tyrone assured him that he wasn’t going to die, and urged him to make amends with his family.

His words seemed to be sinking in, as Kevin apologised for hitting him.

By the time Abi returned home, she found Kevin in tears. Without either of them needing to say anything, they fell into each others arms as Abi offered her support.
