Coronation Street child falls ill with shock response from her parent
Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) was warned time and time again about the dangers of vaping in Coronation Street but perhaps unsurprisingly, looking what she deemed as ‘cool’ in front of her friends was more of a priority to her than her health.
Mrs Crawshaw visited Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Hope and once the young girl convinced the adults she had given up vaping, Mrs Crawshaw said she can return to school.
After the teacher left, Hope snuck her vape out of the sideboard. She was quickly distracted, however, as Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) arrived and asked for some help in the shop.
Hope stuffed the vape into the sideboard, failing to notice a curl of smoke escape from the draw. As a result, a small fire started in the living room.
Thankfully, Evelyn returned before things got even more out of hand and found Ruby (Billie Naylor) trying to put the flames out. Once Ty and Fiz got back, they were horrified to discover Hope’s vape was the cause of the fire.
That evening, with everyone asleep, Hope suffered a coughing fit.
As a new week begins, Fiz tells Tyrone that Hope is too poorly to return to school so she’s having a day off.
Ty, annoyed by the past few weeks, tells Fiz that Hope has probably brought it on herself by vaping.
During a trip to the surgery, Doctor Gaddas confirms that Hope has a chest infection and the vaping will have certainly played a part.
But will this be enough for Hope to stop?
