Hollyoaks boss shares first Christmas 2025 spoiler as huge story comes to a head
It's not looking good for Ste…
Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
After weeks of exciting build-up, Hollyoaks is finally preparing to air the much-awaited 30th anniversary scenes, starting next week.
Although many of the events taking place in the anniversary episodes have been kept tightly under wraps, it is known that there’ll be an impressive stunt at the heart of the celebrations, which will leave devastating consequences in its wake.
Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap, Hollyoaks boss Hannah Cheers describes the stunt as “exciting, ugly and different” and “a bit of Hollyoaks bonkers”.
“I don’t think it’s about trying to beat your best stunts – you can’t spend money on mangling a piece of metal unless the story’s right, you’ve got to feel something,” Hannah explains.

“The 30th is a different prospect. I didn’t want to go off-site, I wanted to be in Hollyoaks, celebrating our geography and who we are.”
Also at the centre of the celebrations is Tony Hutchinson’s wedding to Diane Hutchinson, which is threatened by Mercedes McQueen and Marie Fielding’s secret pregnancies with Tony, as well as the fact that he was revealed as the biological father of his best friend Darren Osborne’s daughter Morgan.

“Tony is the everyman. He is the moral stalwart. He has never done anything to intentionally hurt people. He’s your neighbour next door, he’s your best mate down the pub and he’s such a respectful, warm-hearted, generous human being,” Hannah reasons.
“But like the best of us, he gets things wrong and he makes mistakes. After 30 years of living in the same place, that’s where Tony’s at.”
Hannah also teases ahead to Christmas, referencing the horrific ongoing storyline in which Ste Hay is being physically abused by his teenage son Lucas Hay.

The storyline recently got even more complex when Lucas’ boyfriend Dillon Ray confessed his romantic feelings for his addiction sponsor Ste – but kept these feelings a secret from Lucas.
“The Lucas and Ste child-to-parent abuse story has a big peak at Christmas,” she teases. “There’s a big climax there.”
